Apistogramma are fun dwarf cichlids that are easy to breed. They’re known for having personality and like to hide in the bottom levels of the aquarium. They grow to a maximum size of about 3.5″, and love having plants and caves in their tanks.
They are semi-aggressive, so be careful when choosing tank-mates for them. Because of their body shape, they prefer tall aquariums over long ones. They do best on a soft substrate like sand, as they may try to move it around.
